I am a futurist, author, and keynote speaker focused on understanding how large-scale change forms before its full implications become visible. Over more than 35 years in leadership roles, my work has increasingly centered on the interaction among forces across science, technology, society, geopolitics, economics, philosophy, and the environment.

These domains are often examined separately, yet the most consequential periods in history emerge when they begin to influence one another. A new capability changes what people can do. Social pressures alter what people need and expect. Economic choices determine what receives investment. Political decisions shape what is protected or constrained. Environmental conditions change what societies must endure. As these forces begin acting on one another, they create pressure on institutions, operating models, and ways of life built for an earlier world.

At Tata Consultancy Services, I engage leaders in conversations about this emerging future and what it may mean for organizations, governments, communities, and people. My work is focused on developing a new way to understand the future: not as a distant outcome to be predicted, but as a set of pathways forming through pressure, convergence, adaptation, and choice. The aim is to make that movement visible enough for leaders to recognize where inherited systems are beginning to strain and where meaningful action may still influence what comes next.

That effort led me to develop Possibility Chains. They trace how present pressures can become future conditions without pretending that certainty is available. Rather than moving directly from a current development to a finished scenario, Possibility Chains focus on the missing middle: the period when people compensate, institutions improvise, burdens shift, and early pathways begin to take shape.

My book, Inside the Next Transition: Seeing Systemic Change Before Pathways Harden, brings this work into a larger historical and human story. It explores why this moment feels different, how systemic transitions form, how pressures move across domains, and how the future reaches people before institutions fully recognize what is changing.

My writing examines how these forces are reshaping the ways we live, learn, work, care, govern, create meaning, and relate to one another. The purpose is not simply to describe what may happen next. It is to help readers see how the future is already forming, where pressure is landing, and where choices still remain before emerging conditions become difficult to alter.
