As I have done each year for the last six years, I had the pleasure of participating in the CEO of the Year Gala sponsored by Chief Executive Group. The event is preceded by roundtable discussions with CEOs, and I have been honored to facilitate one of those sessions each year. The topic for this years roundtable was Innovating for a World in Transition. The short abstract for the session read as follows.

Our future is emerging rapidly with broad shadows looming, revealing a world in transition. Geopolitical instability, supply chain disruption, cyber incidents, climate change, resource exhaustion, new ways of working and more are driving both disruptive and opportunistic possibilities. And the “possibility space” is expanding and less certain due to the rapid advances in both science and technology. For example, the power of generative AI is challenging traditional structures and procedures, posing both great benefits and costs to individuals and society at large. At the heart of surviving and thriving in the emerging future lies innovation. Has innovation become a top priority in your organization? Are your businesses feeling the pressure to adapt and evolve in ways and at a pace never imagined?

Each year post-session, the Chief Executive Group publishes an article which captures the conversation. I was privileged to hear from some amazing CEOs. I think you will really appreciate the insights.
